4 time Olympian
by Jay Hakkinen / March 29, 2009
The season is now officially over, and the big highlight for me is that I officially qualified for my fourth Olympics. Based on the US Biathlon Association Olympic Qualification, it was possible for up to two athletes to pre-qualify for the Olympics if the athletes achieved two top 15 results or a top 50 overall World Cup rank. That means Tim Burke and I made the criteria.
It was unlucky to get sick for so long during the World Championships, which then hampered my preparation for the final World Cups. Nonetheless, I have been analyzing every detail of this past season in order to get top results next season.
After a short break, I will begin training again in April, which I am already looking forward to. As the Norwegians say, Alt for OL.
